EVENT HIRE

Finding the perfect event space can be a daunting task. We understand the challenge, which is why we've designed our venue with versatility in mind. Bartholomew's can host any kind of event, from an intimate gathering to a grand celebration.

The venue offers a number of different spaces that can be hired for free, depending on the size of your event and the type of space that you require. This is a great option if you're working with a tight budget, as it allows you to host your event without having to spend a lot of money on venue hire. There is just a small minimum spend required, which most events cover easily. 


If you are looking for larger functions, both our downstairs and our upstairs mezzanine, with its private bar, can be hired. The area offers a range of different spaces that are ideal for corporate events and other high-end functions.

  • DO I NEED TO RESERVE A TABLE?
    It is advisable that you reserve a table for large bookings. We require a $200 deposit for bookings of 30 people or more. This is fully refundable upon arrival of your guests towards function food purchases.
  • HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES THE FUNCTION AREA HOLD?
    We can cater for up to 450 guests depending on the type of event you would like to hold. Please feel free to come in any time to take a look and discuss your function options with our friendly staff.
  • DO I NEED MINIMUM NUMBERS?
    Only for upstairs where we have a minimum of 30ppl. To book out the entire upstairs function area exclusively we do require a minimum of 120 people. (We have many different sections available and can cater for any sized function) There is also a minimum spend of $300 for events of up to 50, and $500 for groups larger than 50.
  • DO YOU HIRE OUT THE WHOLE VENUE?
    Yes, by negotiation, however this is unavailable on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • CAN I PLAY MY OWN MUSIC?
    This is only available if you are booking the entire venue and is by negotiation.
  • CAN I START A BAR TAB?
    Yes, you can start a bar tab to any amount.
  • DO YOU OFFER DRINK PACKAGES?
    Yes. please see our functions guide.
  • CAN I DECORATE THE FUNCTION AREA?
    Feel free to decorate as you like. We only ask that you are mindful of the environment when doing so. We discourage the use of helium balloons, plastic confetti or party poppers.
  • CAN I BRING A CAKE OR FOOD?
    Yes, you can bring cake! There is a $10 cake-age. We are a restaurant so no other outside food can be brought it.
  • IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
    No, there is no formal dress code, please dress nice!
  • CAN I BRING CHILDREN?
    Yes, children are more than welcome provided they are accompanied by an adult.
  • DO YOU OFFER ANY FUNCTION FOOD OPTIONS?
    Yes, please see our function food menu. We require a minimum of 2 weeks notice when ordering food for functions.
